CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS
We value our therapeutic work empowering children and teens to find security and identity while cultivating awareness and coping skills to navigate challenges such as social media and screen usage, peer relationships, dynamics with family members, and more.

MELISSA BURNS, AMFT
My approach with children, adolescents, and young adults is integrated, relational, and developmentally attuned. I draw from person-centered, narrative, and solution-focused frameworks while incorporating expressive tools such as art, music, play, grounding exercises, and movement when helpful. I strive to meet each young person where they are, honoring their strengths, interests, and cultural context while co-creating a supportive space for growth.
I have experience supporting youth navigating anxiety, depression, academic pressure, identity exploration, grief, and complex family or relational dynamics. With a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed style, I aim to help kids and teens feel understood, empowered, and confident in navigating emotions, relationships, and daily life.

KATHERINE HAWKES, AMFT
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, #145309
I integrate both non-directive and directive play therapy into my work with youth. This may look like expressive art, sandtray, or play. In tandem with traditional talk therapy interventions, I tailor my sessions to align with the child or teens interests and support needs. I have a background in working with neurodivergent children and I worked closely with children with varying emotional, social, and physical needs. Through this, I prioritize creating a supportive environment that is comprehensive in nature. I work diligently with young children and teens to explore their emotions, foster a sense of self, navigate relationships, and address their unique needs.

RUBY CONLAN, AMFT
While working with young individuals, I employ a trauma-informed perspective and a person-centered approach to facilitate and invite adolescents in talk therapy. This could involve various methods such as traditional talk therapy, play or art therapy, or family sessions. In my time spent working at a youth crisis shelter, I became equipped with considerable experience in supporting youth navigating complex and intersecting traumas. I bring forth a caring and understanding viewpoint to the therapeutic environment, fostering an atmosphere conducive to growth and healing.
