I believe that the essence of therapy lies in an empathetic, trusting relationship between client and practitioner - to that end, I place strong emphasis on cultivating a secure and judgment-free environment where authenticity can thrive. Using an integrated approach drawn from psychodynamic/narrative/interpersonal process techniques, I tailor my style to meet the needs of whomever I’m sitting with, taking into account each client’s lived experience and cultural context. With a background in treating anxiety, depression, anger, grief, life transitions, and relationship/identity/self-esteem issues, I aim to help co-create a “toolkit” for navigating everyday life with agency and resiliency, and to empower individuals of all ages in the pursuit of meaning, connection, and fulfillment. I look forward to working with you!

My training allows me to utilize EMDR techniques to help address the roots of my clients' present issues. EMDR provides lasting change and relief for many. My specialties include anxiety and depression common to those who grew up in, or who are currently living in a home with substance use, emotional neglect and intergenerational trauma. I employ an individualized, holistic approach to collaborate with clients who want to relieve suffering, break out of repetitive cycles and find new meaning in their lives and relationships. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space as clients find the courage to share their stories and heal into their authentic selves.

Central to my practice is establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship. Mental health struggles can be incredibly isolating, and human connection is a powerful tool for healing and personal growth. With this foundation, I work with adults, couples, young children, and teens to explore emotions, navigate relationships, and address unique needs. Feeling comfortable, heard, and validated in therapy can make all the difference. To provide adaptable and individualized therapy, I embrace an integrated approach, drawing upon techniques from Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Narrative therapies. My goal is to support you on your journey and help you develop the skills needed to navigate life's challenges.

I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy because challenge and struggle are universal. It’s common to try to navigate these difficulties alone, but the feelings of frustration, anxiety, stress and depression that frequently accompany them are much more manageable with help. Further, our definitions of grief and trauma are often limited, leading us to underestimate the role they play in the navigation of life’s conflicts/transitions or in addiction. My integrative approach employs elements of existential, psychodynamic and narrative methodologies which - while different - can be complementary. Additionally, I have worked for many years in the chemical dependency field, using a combination of behavioral modalities, motivational interviewing and AA’s Twelve Steps. I find that therapy is characterized more often by a series of smaller “a-ha” moments and perspective shifts than by dramatic revelation or epiphany. I look forward to helping you know yourself better, identify your values and strengths, and re-write your story moving forward.

My expertise is a depth approach including psychodynamic, attachment and emotionally focused therapy. My Practice emphasizes my clients processing their feelings and life experiences so they may integrate their past into current relationship dynamics and feel empowered. Anxiety and depression are often symptoms of unprocessed emotional pain. I assist my clients in recovering from addictive behaviors, rewiring patterns within their relationships, grieving losses and transitions, and acquiring coping skills while moving forward. I treat post partum clients, assist couple with parenting challenges, and help many discover that there is value in honoring their emotional experiences. I have treated diverse individuals, couples and families while working in treatment at Cottage Residential Center, The Santa Barbara Rescue Mission, and the Community Counseling and Education Center.
